About Us
The Fix the Senate Now (FTSN) coalition continues to advocate for sensible change to the rules governing the U.S. Senate that would end gridlock and allow the institution to meet some of our country’s greatest challenges. The coalition is led by the Alliance for Justice, the Communications Workers of America (CWA), Common Cause, the Sierra Club, and United Auto Workers (UAW).
The work of the coalition draws attention to the impact the gridlock in Washington, DC has on hard working Americans. The broader coalition includes over seventy organizations that have voiced their concerns on the crippling effect the continued filibuster of nominations has on the functioning of government by sending a letter calling on the Senate to engage and vote on confirmations rather than kill nominations with silent filibusters. Organizations disappointed with the lack of debate on key issues have also joined our call to action- those frustrated with the lack of debate on gun legislation, immigration, and economic security. Senators have joined us in a call to action to end abuse of the filibuster to stop the partisan gridlock in Washington, DC.
We are the voices of everyday Americans who believe that our U.S. Senate needs to debate solutions to some of the greatest challenges of our country faces and help us to find solutions.
